Professor Jess CHUA (蔡济铭) grew up in a Chinese business family in the Philippines and currently holds appointments at three universities on three continents: University of Calgary in Canada, University of Lancaster in the United Kingdom, and Zhejiang University in China. He also chairs the Research Advisory Committees of the Centre for Family Business at the Lancaster University Management School and the Institute for Entrepreneurs at Zhejiang University School of Management.
Professor Chua’s research publications, including four books, two research monographs, and over 100 research papers on financial management and family business governance, have received awards from various international academic associations. His previous industry appointments include senior adviser to an investment banking firm, adviser to an international consulting company, and a ministerial appointment to the board of governors of a professional association. For his contributions to management practice through his teaching, research, and consulting, he received the Leaders in Management Education Award from the Financial Post of Canada. For the influence of his research on academic discourse, he has been listed by Web of Science among the top 1% of scholars in Economics and Business and has received the USC Greif Center for Entrepreneurship Research Impact Award.
